- Membership fees are not refundable
- In the event of Racing Queensland cancelling racing due to track conditions, all social events will continue. Any request for a refund will be at the discretion of the management committee
- Bar Refund tickets are only available between 8 am and 12 noon on the Sunday following the races at the Treasurer’s Office.

We are required to comply with the Federal Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and therefore our privacy policy applies to any personal information we collect, use or disclose, including the personal information of our employees and contractors.

We collect personal information in order to deliver race meets at Oak Park Race Club Inc. With consent, we may also use personal information for related purposes including providing clients with updates on our products and services.

We do not use or disclose personal information for any purpose that is unrelated to the services we provide and that you would not reasonably expect (except with client consent). We have a duty to maintain the confidentiality of our members and guests’ affairs, including personal information. Our duty of confidentiality to our members and guests applies, except where disclosure of personal information is consented to by the client or is compelled by law.
Member and guests’ personal information may be disclosed to approved third parties who are also required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Conditions of Entry
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY & CAMPING POLICY (QUEENSLAND COMPLIANT)
- LEGAL FRAMEWORK
These Conditions of Entry are governed by Queensland legislation, including but not limited to:
- Racing Act 2002 (Qld)
- Liquor Act 1992 (Qld)
- Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld)
- Applicable local government laws and emergency directives
Entry to the venue constitutes acceptance of these Conditions and all applicable laws.
2. RIGHT OF ENTRY & REMOVAL
The Oak Park Race Club (“the Club”) reserves the right to:
- Refuse entry to any person
- Remove any person without refund
- Conduct bag, vehicle, and personal searches as a condition of entry
Any person who:
- Is intoxicated
- Engages in disorderly or unsafe conduct
- Fails to comply with directions
may be refused entry or evicted in accordance with the Liquor Act 1992 (Qld).
3. RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL (RSA)
The Club operates under a liquor licence and strictly complies with the Liquor Act 1992 (Qld) and RSA obligations.
- Alcohol must not be supplied to persons under 18 years
- Intoxicated persons must not be served alcohol
- Intoxicated persons must not serve alcohol
- Acceptable ID is required (e.g., driver licence, passport, proof of age card)
- Only alcohol purchased from the bar to be consumed in licensed areas. BYO alcohol is not permitted in the licensed areas at the racetrack or bar area of the dance hall.
- EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
All patrons and campers must behave in a safe, respectful, and lawful manner.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Offensive, violent, or disorderly behaviour
- Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation
- Wilful damage to property
- Entering restricted racing areas (track, mounting yard, steward zones)
- Non-compliance with steward, official, or security directions
These standards align with industry conduct expectations under Racing Queensland.
- RACING INTEGRITY & RESTRICTED AREAS
Under the Racing Act 2002 (Qld):
- Unauthorised access to racing areas is prohibited
- Interference with horses, jockeys, or officials is strictly forbidden
- Patrons must comply with directions from Stewards and authorised officers
- Jogging or walking on the racetrack is strictly prohibited anytime
Breaches may result in:
- Removal from venue
- Investigation by Racing Stewards
- Penalties under racing legislation
- SAFETY OBLIGATIONS
In line with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld):
- Patrons must take reasonable care for their own safety and others
- Hazards must be reported to staff
- Emergency instructions must be followed at all times
The Club has a duty of care and may act to mitigate risks, including restricting access to areas.
- PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following are prohibited unless authorised:
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Weapons or dangerous items
- Fireworks or flares
- Unapproved drones
Queensland Police may be notified where required.
- CAMPING CONDITIONS (REGULATED USE)
Camping is permitted only in approved permanent camps and the public designated camping areas. All camping is subject to:
8.1 Compliance with Laws
Campers must comply with:
- Local council laws
- Fire regulations and restrictions
- Noise regulations
8.2 Behaviour Standards
Campers must:
- Respect others and maintain acceptable noise levels
- Comply with quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Avoid anti-social or disruptive conduct
8.3 Alcohol in Camping Areas
- Alcohol purchased outside of Oak Park reserve can be consumed in designated camping areas only
- No open containers of alcohol are to be carried around the reserve.
8.4 Fires & Safety
- Fires only permitted in designated areas and when legally allowed
- Total fire bans must be strictly observed
- When lighting an open fire, campers must ensure the area around is cleared of all grass and other flammable materials
- Fires must not be left unattended
- Campers are required to remove stones etc when vacating the area
8.5 Vehicles & Generators
- Vehicles must remain in designated areas
- To avoid congestion around the camps, the car park is located behind the machinery shed/Telstra tower
- No reckless driving
- Generators permitted only between 6 am and 9pm for camps connected to power
- Push bikes are not permitted on the reserve or on the main road into the reserve
- The use of four-wheelers or buggies are only permitted following Committee approval and may be subject to use during designated times
- Children must be kept well clear of the water truck. Chasing, following or riding the water truck is strictly prohibited
- All Queensland road rules must be adhered to in the racetrack reserve
- Riding on the back of open vehicles strictly prohibited
- The speed limit of 10 klms per hour must be following throughout the reserve
8.6 Waste & Environment
- Campers must maintain clean sites
- Dispose of waste properly at the dump
- Environmental damage is prohibited
8.7 Pets
- No pets including dogs are permitted on the reserve
8.8 Power Usage
- Usage of power on the reserve is limited to lighting and small use items only
- Electric ovens, microwaves, heaters, air conditioners, toasters, urns are strictly prohibited
- Hair dryers and straighteners are not to be used during peak times of Thursday, Friday and Saturday of race week due to the high-power demand
- Under no circumstances are gas heaters or gas cook tops permitted to be used in tents or other enclosed areas due to extreme fire hazard
8.9 INCOMING TELEPHONE CALLS
- Messages will be taken and posted on the notice board at the Office
- UHF Channel 30 will also be used to relay messages where possible
- Public phones for outgoing calls are located adjacent to Bagstowe camp – please pay for your calls. Put money in the tin. This is not a free phone
8.10 EFTPOS
- Cash out is only available from the Treasurer’s office
- EFTPOS facilities are available at all events including Racetrack, Merchandise and Hall Bar
8.11 FISHING
Fishing is only permitted along the river in the Race Club Reserve
8.12 Water Supply
It is recommended that all drinking water is boiled before consuming.
- SURVEILLANCE & MEDIA CONSENT
The venue may operate CCTV for safety and compliance.
By entering, patrons consent to:
- Being photographed or filmed
- Use of images for promotional or regulatory purposes
- LIABILITY & WAIVER
To the extent permitted by law:
- Entry is at the patron’s own risk
- The Club is not liable for loss, damage, or injury
- Patrons release the Club from liability except where required by law
Nothing excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
11.1 In an emergency:
- Follow directions from staff and emergency services
- Evacuate calmly when instructed
- Do not re-enter restricted areas until authorised
11.2 Ambulance and First Aid
- Queensland Ambulance Service is located behind the Secretary and Treasurer’s office complex
- Minor medical issues should be dealt with by yourself, calling your doctor or calling the RFDS Cairns base – 4040 0500 (24-hour service)
11.3 Police
- Queensland Police are located on site
- In an emergency use UHF 30 to contact them
11.4 Fire Emergency
- In case of emergency-mop up fire units are located at What’s Happening, Oak Park & Smith’s Point Camps
- Every camp must have a fire extinguisherand fire blanket and advise your guests where they are situated.

- ENFORCEMENT & PENALTIES
Breaches of these Conditions or legislation may result in:
- Immediate eviction
- Suspension or banning from the venue
- Referral to Queensland Police or Racing Stewards
- Penalties under applicable laws
- AMENDMENTS
These Conditions may be updated at any time to reflect changes in legislation or operational requirements.
