Visitor info

Camping at Oak Park is near the racecourse and on the banks of the Copperfield River.

Except for permanent camps there are no pre-allocated sites and facilities are shared.

If you are not joining a permanent camp on the grounds , you must camp in the clearly signed designated camping area only.
This rule is for your own safety and convenience.
Maps will be available at the gate on arrival.

Each group is expected to share responsibility in keeping them clean and tidy .

Camping facilities (short distance from race track) include

  • Hot and cold showers
  • Wood supplied for the hot water “donkeys”
  • Separate Men’s and Women’s toilets
  • No electricity provided
  • Water taps
  • Dance hall
  • Hot Food Van on race days

As these facilities are provided for your use, there are a number of ground rules that must be adhered to.

A copy of the Constitution is available to members by contacting the Secretary, Deborah Woodhouse.

Traditionally families from stations have set up their own permanent camps to use each year (to develop a permanent camp, permission from the Committee is required). The Committee however has decided that there will be no more permanent campsites approved until further infrastructure has been completed. There is however general campsites available with shared facilities to which you will be directed to upon arrival.
